List of countries which provide VISA free entry, VISA on Arrival and E VISA facilities for Indian Citizens
Below are the lists of countries, where Indians are exempt from VISA requirement (list of VISA free countries for Indians), where Indians are granted VISA on arrival (list of VISA on arrival countries for Indians), and which provide for Electronic visas for Indians without the requirement of Indians visiting their embassies (List of countries providing e Visa for Indians). However, for all the rest of the countries which are not mentioned here, an appropriate VISA must be acquired by visiting their nearest mission or as specified by the competent authorities of those countries.
Please note that the term ‘VISA free’ refers to freedom of movement(limit of time period may apply), ‘Free VISA’ refers to the monetary aspect of acquiring a VISA, ‘VISA on arrival’ refers to the timing of grant of a VISA and ‘e VISA’ refers to the electronic mode of applying for a VISA. In short, these terms are not necessarily associated with the types of VISA but are concepts of International travel facilitation. These countries allow Indians to enter their countries on the strength of Indian Passports and no VISA is required. Moreover, for Nepal and Bhutan an alternative document like a Voter identity card issued by the Election Commission of India is sufficient. In most of the cases this VISA exemption is only for tourist purposes and may not be available for any other purposes. For example, If one needs to travel to these countries for studies, she/he might still need to acquire a VISA. Moreover there is no uniformity of such requirement for all the countries listed. These countries don’t require Indian citizens to acquire a prior VISA but provides them on their arrival. So it is not a VISA exemption after all. Moreover carrying passports is mandatory. After Indians arrive in these countries, they are required to follow some formalities like filling forms, paying of VISA fee if any (depends on country to country which provide VOA facility to India), proving financial standing etc. After which they are granted VISA which is mostly endorsed on the passports. Similar to the above case, VISA on arrival may not be available for all purposes and one should double check the rules of the country they are about to visit.

List of countries which provide e Visa or Electronic VISA for Indian Citizens
E VISA is a concept of the Internet era. Under this system, one does not need to visit the embassy of the host country to acquire a VISA. The visitor can get a VISA at the convenience of her/his home by applying for a VISA online. If the host country is satisfied with the information and documents provided, it grants E VISA or Electronic travel authorization (ETA) which is as good as a traditional sticker VISA. You just need to take a printout of the ETA which works as a VISA. However, as in the cases above it may not be granted for all purposes.

Please note that all countries have territorial sovereignty and it is the country’s sole discretion to allow foreigners to enter their country. It doesn’t confer automatic right of a visitor to enter the country even in cases where VISA free entry is allowed. Moreover it is subject to various factors furnishing all the required documents, proving financial standing, proving that you are visiting for the same purpose you are proposing to etc.
Please note that there is no uniformity of fee wherever applicable, no uniformity of Immigration rules, no uniformity in the documents required, no uniformity in the number of designated ports of entry, no uniformity in the laws of the countries listed above.
